The weekly Thursday Night Football odds boost from FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity Casino has a week off to recover from its first loss.
The weekly FanDuelNFL special was 4-0 to start the season before last week’s wager for the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to score at least a touchdown in each half faltered.
NFL Point-spread betting works by “spotting” points to the underdog and “taking” points away from the favorite prior to kickoff. For instance, if the Kansas City Chiefs are a (-10) point spread favorite at Arrowhead Stadium, the NFL club must win by at least 11 points to “cover the spread.”. At sportsbooks with the prop available for No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, Lawrence is favored in all of them. His lowest odds are -1200 at BetMGM; his highest odds are -6000 at FanDuel. In that case, a bettor must risk $6,000 to profit $100. That comes with an implied probability greater than 95%. All NFC Championship betting lines, odds, and prop bets are available on FanDuel Sportsbook. FanDuel Sportsbook is celebrating NFL Championship Weekend with enhanced odds on any of the four teams playing this Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers are the favorites, but new.
No touchdowns were scored in the entire second half, which meant the bet — boosted from +205 to +260 — went down.
More odds boosts and free plays will be available to online customers after sports betting apps launch later this year. But for now, odds boosts and sports promos are available at retail books in the state.
With no Thursday game on the slate for NFL Week 6, let’s take a look at the Sunday odds boosts offered at the in-person sportsbook at MotorCity.
Sunday’s odds boosts include three-team parlay
MotorCity does not include an odds boost on the Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars game this Sunday.
But there is a special three-team moneyline parlay deal being offered by the book.
Bettors would need Baltimore to top Philadelphia, Pittsburgh to beat Cleveland, and Green Bay to overtake Tampa Bay to win the parlay. Odds have been boosted from +240 to +300.
The bet is available only at MotorCity Casino kiosks and there is a $200 maximum bet allowed.
FanDuel odds boosts are a common sight in Detroit
The FanDuel Thursday odds boosts were perfect in the first four weeks of the season.
The winning bets were:
- On the season’s opening night, the boosted bet had Patrick Mahomes throwing three or more touchdowns and leading Kansas City to victory against Houston. The regular +154 odds paid out at +250.
- In Week 2, in-state rivals Cincinnati and Cleveland needed to score more than 9.5 points in the first quarter with the Browns winning in the end. That +169 bet boosted to +250.
- Jacksonville and Miami played in Week 3. Both teams scoring at least a touchdown apiece in each half cashed a bet that paid off at +200, boosted from +142.
- In Week 4, Denver and the New York Jets cashed a two-leg parlay by scoring 15 or more points apiece, a bet boosted from +104 to +140.
Boosts could boost MI sports betting for MotorCity
The FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity has been more popular since football season started in September.
Most Thursdays, the crowd has been strong at MotorCity, especially in the moments leading to kickoff.
MotorCity’s nearly $13 million handle in September drew closer to MGM Grand Detroit, which still leads at $14.6 million in bets.
MotorCity’s 38.7% market share for Detroit casino sports betting was an improvement over March and August. In those partial months of sports betting, MGM took slightly less than half of the bets. MotorCity was at 32.5%.
The gain in handle may have more to do with NFL kickoff in early September than anything else. But offers such as weekly odds boosts and parlays certainly help keep some of the spotlight on MotorCity and FanDuel Sportsbook.
